For author and adventure guide Greg Witt, Stewart Falls is the most beautiful waterfall in Utah County. “Bridal Veil Falls is taller and more visible, but I just love how Stewart Falls cascades down in this three-tier wedding cake effect, and [it is] certainly worth a visit any time of the year,” Witt said.
Stewart Falls is a 3.7-mile roundtrip hike that only gains about 300 feet in elevation, so it’s a great hike for families with young children, seniors, and anyone looking for an beautiful, easy hike.
There are wildflowers, wild strawberries and trees along the trail and ample opportunities to see wildlife: birds, deer, fox, rabbits.
The trail is well marked and easy to find. There are multiple way to access the trail: from Mount Timpanogos Trailhead parking area, from Aspen Grove camp or from Sundance resort.
Stewart Falls trail is included in Witt’s book, “60 Hikes Within 60 Miles: Salt Lake City.” Check it out at Borders Books for more information on this and other hikes. |
