How bout a "How To" column for Wilderness Survival 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 2
I'd like to see more about Wilderness Survival...it's always been something I've wanted to try, but never really had any direction.

What about it?

That would be really cool. My husband and I have always wanted to know more about it too.
Any ex-NOLS folks around to teach us?

I to would love to see some more of that as well. In the mean time, for anyone who is interested there is a great book about wilderness survival. Its called "Outdoor Survival Skills" by Larry Dean Olsen and Robert Redford and you can get it on Amazon for $7.00. It's a great book and I believe its written by a local guy. I have done a bit of outdoor survival and really enjoy it. Its harder then T.V shows make it look but nothing is more satisfying.

I would defiantly be up for that kinda thing! My husband and I go camping a lot in really hard to get to places and I have always wondered if i could really survive if i had too, especially without him or in the snow.
My brother in law is in the army and he teaches some classes like once every few months on a weekend in the wilderness. He said it is pretty intensive and you can learn a lot. I think i am going to go to the next one since they are free and taught by all guys who have been through ranger school several times. Let me know if you want to go! IT should be pretty cool!
